Unified Rulebook Signed by 15 Organizers

Cricket at the amateur level in the UAE is set for a transformation, as 15 leading tournament organizers have come together to sign the Unified Rulebook for amateur cricket. This landmark agreement is designed to standardize the game across various leagues and ensure a fair, competitive, and consistent playing experience for all participants.

For years, cricket in the UAE has seen tremendous growth, especially at the amateur level, where dozens of organizers host leagues catering to players of all skill levels. However, the absence of a unified set of rules often led to inconsistencies in gameplay, confusion over regulations, and sometimes disputes among players and teams. To address these challenges, the Global Cricket Connect (GCC) initiated the development of a Unified Rulebook that would be accepted by all organizers.

The rulebook covers a wide array of critical aspects, such as match formats, playing conditions, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution mechanisms. This ensures that regardless of which league or tournament a player participates in, they can expect the same set of rules to govern their game. The goal is to promote fairness and transparency, giving players confidence that every match will be officiated to the same standard.

"We are excited to have 15 major organizers on board," said a spokesperson for the GCC. "This is a significant step toward making amateur cricket more structured and professional across the UAE. It not only simplifies the process for players but also builds trust and credibility for the leagues involved."

Several well-known organizers, including those hosting major tournaments are among the signatories of this rulebook. This move is expected to positively impact thousands of players, with more organizers likely to adopt the Unified Rulebook in the coming months.

As the popularity of amateur cricket continues to rise in the UAE, this initiative sets a strong foundation for the future, ensuring the game’s integrity and growth at the grassroots level.
